"NOT PUNK" is the debut album from the Sudbury/Ottawa, Ontario rock and roll collective, WHITE HOT. Recorded at Deadpan Studios with Mathew Wiewel, the album explores themes of nostalgia, loss, and loneliness while also emphasizing that our existence, although at times bleak, is short and worth fighting for. The band, now featuring longtime collaborator Keegan McDonald, showcases their prowess by delving into everything from straight-ahead pop choruses to soaring guitar solos and dynamic rhythms. The album's runtime is a brisk 22 minutes, but the runner's high is undoubtedly worth the journey. Described by the band as a "sonic love letter to the past that keeps an eye on living in the moment," it strikes a delicate balance. As the sky falls, it's time to find a dance partner, and The Saloon serves as a perfect starting point.
